While we utilize the resources of some of the largest financial institutions in the marketplace, we are by choice a smaller investment advisory firm.
Our size allows us to know our clients well and work closely with them to develop an investment strategy that will help them achieve their financial goals.
We view ourselves as a partner in this process. We are happy to coordinate with your other professional advisors (i.e., attorneys and accountants) whenever necessary.
Our Investment Philosophy
According to academic research, asset allocation accounts for the majority of the return of a portfolio over time while security selection and market timing are unreliable. Asset allocation refers to the choice of asset classes and the percentage of assets allocated to each.
Simply put, asset allocation means diversifying your portfolio across many asset classes so as not to “put all your eggs in one basket.”
By employing this strategy, you reduce the volatility or risk of a portfolio and produce a smoother return over time.
Clients’ accounts are invested in a wide range of asset classes including large, mid and small cap equities, U.S. and international equities, value and growth equities and fixed income. Walden Capital utilizes no-load mutual funds as its investment vehicle. The firm uses both actively and passively managed mutual funds.
In selecting funds, we look for a minimum three year fund history, three year manager tenure, good performance relative to benchmarks and peer groups, consistent investment style, low volatility and low expenses.
At the beginning of the investment advisory relationship, we work with clients to determine the optimal investment strategy for their goals and objectives.
Assets are held in the client’s name at a custodial firm. We purchase and sell investments in clients’ accounts on a discretionary basis according to their personal investment strategy. Client accounts are reviewed periodically to determine if the asset allocation is consistent with the Investment Policy Statement.
Communication and Reporting
Clients receive monthly statements directly from their custodial firm. These statements will report all transactions for the period and show the client’s current holdings and cost basis. Walden Capital provides additional written reports to clients on a quarterly basis. These reports include a detailed holdings report, asset allocation summary and performance review.
Gain/loss reports are provided annually. Clients may choose to have their accounts reported on an individual or household level. Walden Capital clients also have web access to their account information.
We encourage clients to meet with us periodically to review their financial goals, progress and risk selection.
Our Fees
Walden Capital’s fees are based on a percentage of assets under management. Fees are paid quarterly in advance of each quarter based on market value of the accounts on the last day of the prior quarter.
Walden Capital does not sell any products or accept any commissions or compensation from any other source. We are paid solely by our clients and are therefore able to maintain objectivity in our security selection.
Please be aware that Walden Capital Advisors, LLC has a portfolio minimum of $1,000,000 to accept inquiries through this directory.
