Fee-Only Planning vs. Fee-Based
Sensible Money is a Fee-Only financial planning firm. As such, we may only receive compensation that is paid directly from our clients.
Fee-based advisors may receive compensation and bonuses from other sources; such as their broker dealer, mutual funds or insurance companies. They may receive bonuses or trips based on how much of a certain type of product they sell in any given month.
Comprehensive Financial Planning
Available to clients with a minimum annual fee of $6,000 per year.
Comprehensive planning clients will work with a Certified Financial PlannerTM. They will receive the following services:
- Net Worth Statement and Cash Flow Projection
- Investments: Written Investment Policy Statement, Investment Strategy, Implementation of the Portfolio, & Quarterly Performance Reports
- Annual Income Tax Planning
- Written Summary of Estate Planning Documents
- Comprehensive Insurance Review (life, disability, long-term care and property/casualty)
- Company/Employee Benefit Review and Analysis
It usually takes 6-8 meetings over a 1-2 year time frame to implement all of the above. Once implemented, going forward a client would have 2-3 face-to-face meetings per year.

- The client must return the agreement and provide all requested documentation via fax, e-mail, or mail.
- All documents are reviewed and a plan of action is developed.
- A face-to-face strategy appointment is then set.
- At this appointment the analysis is reviewed and recommendations are given.
