Our Firm's History
Woodstock was founded over seventy-five years ago by a group of resourceful entrepreneurs, whose initial responsibility was handling estate settlement, accounting and tax matters for the family of William A. Paine, Founder of Paine Webber and Company.
As the firm prospered, financial counseling and asset management capabilities, along with a highly personalized approach, were offered to other investors as well.
Five generations later, the Woodstock tradition continues with clients that include a geographically diverse group of individuals and their families, trustees, corporations and philanthropic institutions.
Our Goals
For the past seventy-five years, Woodstock's philosophy has been and remains to create and preserve wealth for our clients.
We are dedicated to meeting or exceeding expectations with regard to investment results, communications, and additional financial advisory services.
In so doing, we aim to instill in clients comfort and confidence in our investment process.
Our Strategy
Woodstock's position is shaped by an investment strategy that seeks to generate superior long-term investment returns, while avoiding excess portfolio turnover and the extremes of both market and company volatility. Our analysts access a reservoir of in-house information and outside research to identify growth companies and financially strong industry leaders.
We minimize exposure to specific risk by subtly diversifying portfolios, including investments in global and medium capitalization companies, in addition to a mix of bonds and higher yielding stocks for income. We also consider taxation issues, which are essential to preserving wealth.
Performance
Woodstock's seasoned investment team has first hand management experience with a variety of economic environments. Our portfolio manager's average over a quarter of a century of experience, and derive success from a time-tested investment style than combines conservative investment strategies with a team oriented research approach that is designed to withstand market fluctuations.
Ultimately, our performance is reflected in the longevity in our client relationships, many of which are reflected in the longevity of our client relationships, many of which are measured in generations.
We are small enough to provide personalized service, but large enough to provide a remarkable depth of services.
Implementation
Woodstock's portfolio managers are experienced research analysts who carefully monitor investment decisions and continuously study new opportunities. They provide a direct link between clients and their investments, and like a trusted family member, discuss and assess client's risk tolerance, income needs, investment objectives and financial circumstances throughout the continuous wealth management process.
At Woodstock we pride ourselves on being small enough to react quickly and responsively to client's needs, yet large enough to provide investment and financial services of remarkable depth.
