Our Advisers
Edward L. Ward, CFS, BCE
Ed has been selected by Seattle Magazine as a Seattle FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager for four years in a row — 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The “Best of Seattle” awards are based upon nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction.
Ed started in this industry with Dean Witter Reynolds in the commodities department and later worked on the floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange. Prior to establishing Robinswood Financial, Ed managed $320,000,000 as an investment advisor with Merriman Capital Management. Ed has five NASD securities licenses. He is a Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) and he is Board Certified in Estate Planning (BCE). Ed is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Puget Sound Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and is a current member of the East King County Estate Planning Council (EKCEPC).
Ed spends his free time developing a vineyard and flying float-planes, although he values his time with his wife and two daughters the most. Ed is a top pilot for Angel Flight and regularly volunteers his time as a pilot providing transportation around the country for patients fighting cancer.
Robert W. Guild, CLU, CHFC, CFS
Bob has been selected by Seattle Magazine as a Seattle FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager for 2010. Bob joined Robinswood Financial after nearly 20 years in the financial services industry, specializing in individual and small business legacy planning. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the East King County Estate Planning Council (EKCEPC) and is a former board member of the Seattle/Eastside chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
Bob earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Washington State University. He holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Fund Specialist (CFS). He is currently pursuing his designation as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Bob enjoys spending his time with his wife, Susan, and their two children. He also enjoys golf, baseball, softball, travel, aviation history, and military history. In his spare time, Bob volunteers with several local charities.
Jeanne Forrey, CFP®, CRPC®
Jeanne has been selected by Seattle Magazine as a Seattle FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager for 2010. Jeanne joined Robinswood Financial coming from Merrill Lynch. She is passionate about serving her clients well. To that end, she has achieved her Certified Financial Planner™ designation and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation. In her prior life, she held positions in the dental, optical and manufacturing industries (L’eggs Pantyhose being one rich in “war stories”).
Jeanne has served her community on the boards of Kirkland Rotary, Kirkland Performance Center, Kirkland Woman’s Club and other organizations. Currently, she is active with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity) where her husband Jeff is a member on their International Board. She loves dancing (West Coast Swing) with her husband and spending time with her grown son and his family in Redmond. When time allows it, she enjoys golfing, swimming, reading and visiting her Minnesota family.
Our Adviser Fees
Instead of accepting commissions, referral fees, or other such compensation, Robinswood Financial charges a yearly portfolio management fee based on the size of your account.
Households (less than $2 million and fewer than 5 accounts). We charge a management fee of 0.7 percent of the full balance of your account under the management of Robinswood Financial. The account balance is based on the market value of the assets in your account on the last day of the quarter. Our fee is quoted as an annual percentage, and is billed quarterly in arrears. The maximum annual fee is $7,000 per household.
Institutional Clients (more than $2 million and/or more than 5 accounts): Robinswood Financial charges an investment management fee based on a percentage of the market value of the client's assets managed by Robinswood at the end of each calendar quarter.
Fees are payable quarterly, in arrears, at the following annual rates: All Accounts are billed at 0.7% on the first $1 million, and 0.2% on account values up to $5 million, with a maximum investment advisory fee of $15,000. per client, per year. The blended annual fee at $2 million in assets under management is 0.45%, at $3 million is 0.3666%, at $4 million is 0.325%, at $5 million is 0.3%, at $10 million is 0.15%, at $15 million is 0.1%.
When you open your account, your first fees are prorated based on the day our portfolio management agreement is executed. If funds are deposited into or withdrawn from the account during the quarter, the fees may be prorated accordingly.
Being compensated by this predetermined client fee rather than by commissions ensures that the advice you receive from us is unbiased and independent. Our fees increase only if your investments grow; therefore our interests are closely aligned with yours. We focus on your financial objectives and your future, and our only motivation is your best interest.
