About Us
Peridot Capital Management LLC is an independent registered investment advisory (RIA) firm based in Pittsburgh specializing in customized portfolio management, investment consulting services, and financial advice for every type of individual investor.
Through a long term, value-oriented investment strategy, we aim to provide clients with investment results in-line with their personal risk tolerances and financial objectives. Peridot-managed portfolios vary in structure based on client needs, but can include equities, fixed income, cash
equivalents, as well as the use of options to hedge
and provide additional income.
Peridot Capital sets itself apart from other firms in the financial advisory industry in several ways. Unlike many companies, we have no minimum investment requirement (we want to help everyone, regardless of financial condition). Our clients range from young college graduates just starting an IRA to those who are retired and are looking for their investments to provide a predictable monthly income for the rest of their lives. Also, we aim to avoid any and all possible conflicts of interest. Peridot Capital accepts absolutely no commissions or sales incentives from any financial product or provider. As a result, we can construct an investment portfolio that fits your needs without any biases whatsoever.
Chad Brand, Founder and President
Peridot Capital Management is run by Chad Brand, a professional investment manager of investment assets since 1992. After the 2000-2002 bear market depleted many investors' brokerage accounts, the outrage among individuals was overwhelming. Most of the disgust was aimed at mutual fund managers and stock brokers who had gotten carried away with technology stocks and had abandoned crucial investment disciplines such as diversification and careful valuation analysis. In 2002, Mr. Brand founded Pittsburgh-based Peridot Capital Management in order to open his knowledge base and asset management skills to those outside of his family.
Chad has been featured in various business publications, including a March 2006 front page story in The Wall Street Journal which discussed the future prospects for Google, the internet search giant. In late 2008, Brand was included in the BusinessWeek Annual Investment Outlook issue, where he highlighted worldwide beer leader Anheuser Busch InBev (BUD) as a bargain at $21 per share and the stock subsequently rose by more than 120% by October 2009. Chad has also spoken regularly at the University of Missouri (Columbia) Business School, as a guest lecturer to both undergraduate and MBA level students.
Chad was a weekly columnist for StreetSideInvestor.com in the late 1990's and began publishing his own investment blog in 2004. In fact, Peridot Capitalist has been named one of the best investment blogs in the U.S. by several media sources and Brand has done interviews regarding various companies and industries with the likes of Reuters, Bloomberg, Business Week, and Forbes. Chad's blog is often 
referenced on various investment web sites including Google Finance, Forbes.com, SeekingAlpha.com, TheDeal.com, TheStreet.com, and Yahoo! Finance.
